TFL panels are decorative panels with a resin-saturated decorative paper thermally fused to a particleboard or MDF core. The thermally fused (TFM) process permanently bonds the decorative paper surface and the core using heat and pressure; there is no glue line to delaminate.
Phillips Decorative Panels ("PDP")
The PDP program consists of over 50 custom patterns and colors available generally on a pine particleboard core. PDP panels are manufactured for us by Roseburg Forest Products.

Vinyl panels are constructed from vinyl bonded to particleboard or MDF panels using a glue process. Less durable than melamine panels, vinyl nevertheless has some benefits that make it an excellent choice for some applications, particularly where an economical alternative to higher-cost laminates is called for. Vinyl panels are generally available in limited range of colors when compared to melamine.

Particleboard is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood chips, sawmill shavings, or sawdust. It is then bonded with a resin and formed under heat and pressure. Less expensive, denser and more uniform than conventional wood and plywood, particleboard is substituted for them when appearance and strength are less important than cost. Medium Density Fiberboard ("MDF")
MDF is fabricated from a wood fiber - resin combination that is formed into a homogenous mat of random fiber orientation, then hot pressed and finished. (Unlike particleboard which is made using wood chips, etc., MDF is fabricated using a homogenous mixture of wood fibers, resulting in a much finer finish.) The resulting smooth surface is comparable to wood and has excellent machining characteristics that yield clean, sharp edges in cutting and drilling operations. MDF provides a superior surface for high tech finishes including lacquers, foils and thin-paper laminates.
Because of the manner in which it is manufactured, MDF is available in a variety of panels for specialized applications. For example, fire and moisture resistant panels, super-refined and Ultralight panels are all fabricated and readily available to meet your requirements.
